Midwood Island, Opinion of Modification for TES5: Skyrim

I am glad to welcome all readers in the first release of my notes and modifications reviews for the 5th part of The Elder Scroll game series, as well known among players as simply Skyrim.

I admit, honestly, I myself am fond of Skyrim’s modding only about 5 years. This is not much, given that at the time of writing this article, our favorite game should already be up to 12 years soon! Before that, I was sick with a Fallout series and even translated several mods for the New Vegas spin-off. But not without the influence of my good friend, who dragged me into the satin tes (and my deep dive began with the 3rd part).

Since then, I have tested many modifications, of a variety of directions, even those who do not say respondent gentlemen about the game in the preference, and I managed to evaluate both the “old classics” like unforgettable Falscaar and relatively fresh ones that have already become bestsellers of fashion from maestro Vicn. I would like to tell you about one modification of impressions now. So, we go to the island of Midwood.

The Midwood Isle modification was developed by the villa Evans and loaded to the main English-language model aggregator-Nexusmods back in 2019, even now, after 5 years, updates continue to be released, and these are not just bug-fixes or new slotting, but full-fledged new additional quests! So in version 3.0. The author added as many as 5 new cessions-sungering during which the player could even visit the plan of Merunes Dagon. I admit, honestly, I ignored this mod for a very long time, since it was lost against the background of the mastodons of the time, such as Beond Skyrim – Bruma. Not the last role in this was played by not expressive screenshots on the official modification page, and poverty on new assets of the landscape in many ways, but more on that later. But do not let yourself be deceived by the mediocrity of the screenshots as I was once deceived! A non -defined diamond is hidden behind a nondescript picture! And now I will tell you why! And I’ll tell you why this diamond still does not have a cut, that is, about its minuses.

An uncomplicated story:

The history of the main quest of modification is very unpretentious, you can even say this is a certain stereotype or even the paths of many modifications. After Dovakin is recognized in us, we are visited by a courier (I will tell you an amazing guy, once to deliver me a letter he sailed for me to Falskar! This is what it means to love your work!). In the letter, we are invited to the audience, mysterious gentlemen in dark hoodies, who, after a short conversation about whether we do not want adventures to their fifth point, turn out to be sectarians and teleport Dovakin to a pocket plan of Oblivion, which is an ash of the village in which they are trying to reduce the scores with us (by the way this may not be an easy fight for a player who does not have significant protection from the equipment frommagic). Subsequently, in the docks of Soilia, we talk about this incident to the captain of the ship that brought us from the distant island of these guys, and having made that “I have already seen this to Dragonborne” we are going to the island starting the main quest of the fashion. I do not want to strongly spoil the plot since it is not so intricate, but during it we will be hunted by sectarians who are eager to return the powerful younger Daedric Demon;protect the village of local Aborigines from the attack;We will arrange a hunt for the underground shelters of the enemy in the forest;We explore the abandoned city of Dwemer colonists;We will visit the plan of the Oblivion of the local small deity, representing itself a distorted, virgin version of the island without roads, villages and other traces of people’s activities and measures. Unfortunately, the main quest of mod is not remarkable, it fulfills its function, but not more than 2 times for all its passage, I experienced surprise: for the first time I was offered to visit the Oblivion plan, and the second time I finally met the final boss.

Intricate stories:

In contrast to the main quest, I experienced a lot of positive emotions passing third -party quests of which there are almost three dozen. There are, banal gout, there are quests spinning around the search and collecting of objects hidden on all corners of the island, but there are also very creative stories. Personally, I remember the quest with the archers tournament on which you will compete with the best archers of the island and visiting masters from the mainland for the right to get an excellent unique onion as a reward, I think the quest will be remembered for fans of shooting, close combat fighters and magicians are condolences. I also want to note the quest during which we must bring the Kuznetsi potion, a simple tie in the style of ghosts turns into an epic that will lead us throughout the island and closer to the end of pouring a stream of self-Iriralia on the player. Or how do you like the hunt for a ghostly bear, which needs to be tracked without an arrow on the trace of luminous ectoplasm on the ground in the twilight forest?

The rich ENT of not the Loric people:

Sonmers – a new nationality of measures represented in fashion. Sonmers are completely fiction of the author and have never been mentioned in Laura more than one of the parts of Tes. But contrary to the original impression in the context of fashion, this people does not look like something alien, since the author prescribed them a rich ENT and a story that describes the formation of their culture, the life of their great people, their religion and war with another elven people-alleys.
